Schedule of Games for 2008

Hello Fellow smashers,

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a great celebration of the holiday season. It's now the beginning of 2008 and that means our badminton break is over.

I know that all of us now are looking forward to get back into the court to continue playing badminton and improve our skills in drop and net shots, cross-court lob and of course to master our powerful smash but unfortunately our everyday game which starts at 8:00 am to 11:00 am will not continue until January 07, 2008.

As per our night game schedules, Tuesday is still canceled, but we still have Thursday and Saturday night games which starts at 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. But keep posted for some changes of time schedules.

We hope that the NMBF will continue to get bigger so we can acquire more friends as well here in the CNMI. We also hope that you will continue your support and cooperation with the group so we can have more succesfull events and tournaments this year.

Once again, Happy 2008 to everyone and keep smashing!

Saipan goes badminton-crazy

The Olympic sport of badminton continued its climb to become part of the island's regular program with the Northern Marianas Badminton Federation working overtime to start its grassroots development program.

NMBF held two successful tournaments and its first youth clinic as part of the Division of Youth and Services-organized Summer Youth Sports Camp.

NMBF's membership is reaching close to 150 as evidenced by the participation in the Traders Insurance/PTI Cup last May and the Inaugural NMBF Mixed Team Competition by the end of the year.

In both tournaments, almost 70 percent of the members joined with close to 80 players competing in the mixed team tournament.
